Bruges, Europe: the shifting boundaries

Countries

early vassals, defeated, such as components of the Russian Middle Ages have gained much momentum. Poland, threatened by the Teutonic knights, monks, had much broader boundaries, before disappearing, then reborn. Hungary lost 60% of its territory "historic" in 1919, having fluctuated over the centuries, including the Turks and with the Habsburgs. Sweden does not have its western side for a long time, and invaded several areas in the southern Baltic, and to decline. Germany "current" with the Holy Roman Empire, it was a great some but not all, is not simple to follow.

Back in Bruges: Who remembers it was a border town at the end of the first millennium and part of the kingdom of France?
