André Kertész (Budapest 1894-New York 1985) est présenté au Jeu de Paume à Paris jusqu'au 6 février.

Ce photographe hongrois a eu 3 vies professionnelles successives, en Hongrie, à Paris de 1925 à 1936, à New York jusqu'en 1962.
Sa démarche et ses recherches (sur la prise de vues et sur des recadrages de photo) sont intéressantes, il a été pionner dans certains domaines. Son fonds de photos a connu une 2e vie à la fin de la sienne. Il a émigré à 2 reprises surtout pour vivre de son art et de sa technique.
Some photos are superb, but I did not really "hooked" on the whole exhibit, either because the majority of Hungarian pictures of the first period are in their original format (5 x 5 cm cm), or because other photos of Paris, without being banal, too reminiscent of those of other major photographers of the time already seen over the years. Those around the artistic circles of the time, or around objects, however, show his genius. Those on New York seemed more poetic.
